Cannot Print from I.E. or AOL Web pages
A Westinghouse Turbine Engineer has a prob with his Lappy not wanting to print from his E-Mail in AOL or while on line.
He said when it first started happening that a message came up about
" You must have text or images to print" or whatever ...
We did a "select all & copy/paste" thing which sorta worked but did not include background pictures.
I checked the box in IE to "print Background Colors and Images"
Still cannot print from anywhere on the internet.
The printer does work from within windows OK..
Bottom line, cannot print from
1. E-Mail - AOL
2. AOL
3. Internet Explorer

lynch | If you are using the AOL software you should have a filing cabinet. You must save all messages you want to this filing cabinet. Then you have offline access to saved messages. Only drawback to this is that if you sign onto AOL via the web or soemtone elses computer you won't have access to the saved emails.
Doc,
Not sure on with your problem. Actually had that problem myself last night but figured it was a fluke of mine or something is up with my printer. Sorry Wish I had more answers for your problem.

Doc:
Do you mean that he can't print any web page on just web pages within the AOL browser? The AOL print feature is a little quirky, clicking the print icon should print the active window (whatever's on top) but some windows just don't want to work that way.
When I get home, I could look around.

Hi,Neostar01.I dont have AOL-I tried to save my sister-in-law's aol mail(see this thread for details) but couldnt find the filing cabinet except when she was on-line.My advice to her was dump AOL for a good ISP.

You might try upgrading to the latest version of aol. Or try a different version if possible.
Is there a page setup in the menu? I have never used aol, but IE has a page setup under the file menu, you might find an error there.
Maybe update the printer drivers.
Good luck!

Hi Doc,
I've seen a few issues like this--I'm working in a printer tech support section of a major printer company. Has your friend recently installed a new version of AOL? I've seen this become the cause. Try re-installing the printer driver software with all TSRs turned off. If you can, try to install the latest version of the printer drivers. This should help.

Had the same prob. Deleted everything in c:\temp, c:\windows\temp, c:\windows\temporyinternetfiles, c:\windowsupdate, c:\windows\windowsupdate and went to ms ie6 sp1 upgrade page and did a reinstall with everything selected
not the typical. It seems that internet explorer and outlook express must be the same version to print from outlook or aol.
