Pentax Optio S4i locked up - need help.

I turned on my Optio S4i, the lenses extended, the on/off button lite up, then nothing. Nothing on the screen, on/off button won't do anything, totally locked up. Tried removing and reinstalling the battery, still locked up. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can get the camera working again, or is it toast?

You could always try to flash with the newest firmware.

On the lefthand side of the website. At the bottom drop down box.
Select your model from the Firmware Historic pane.
Proceed with instructions. If you are stomped further there is a Chat Live feature on the top right of the website.

A poster on another forum gave me the solution. He recommended taking the battery out and letting the camera sit for a week-it worked! Reinstalled the battery and the lens retracted, and the camera has been working well since. Sometimes doing nothing is better than anything else you can try.
