HP C6180 printer will not power up

I have a C6180 that is two years old, that, when I came back to Florida this fall, will not power up. When the power supply is plugged in, the printer emits a rapid clicking from the right side of the printer (sound appears to be coming from the fax speaker?) and the power button will not power up the unit. No flashing lights, nothing except the clicking. Don't know if anyone has experienced this problem, but if so, is there a solution? If not, should I just junk the printer or is it worth pursuing getting the printer repaired?
Thanks,
big_rock

Sounds like your printhead is off or your gears are stuck.
If there is noise coming out of the speaker. Then it is grounded somewhere.
I would just casually tear it down and see if i can find any debris.
Normally i would just shake the heck out of it. And see what lands :P.

Try to take the ink cartridge out all together.
Try it then.
The print head or drum is stuck.
Tear it down and see if you can find where that clicking noise is coming from.
