Netscape in Linux

Can't increase font size to make some pages even readable.
Have tried fooling with various font settings (as if I know what i'm doing there) to no avail. The increase-decrease font ability is always greyed out.
Does anyone else have this problem or could it be unique to my system for some reason?

Mandrake 8.0
Celeron 400
Intel 440bx

no doubt get the newest version as was said. or, you can use mozilla or galeon if you have them because i know they came with 8.0.

im just guessing but i think adobe helvetica is your best bet. go into the preferences of the browser and in there you can change it.

hello,
while i certainly agree with my esteemed colleages on browser choice sometimes you will simply need the old netscape
so go to
edit -> appearance -> fonts
on the panel there are two boxes which say "size" crank them both up to some big value, then select the button which says "use my fonts, overriding document fonts"

Hello again and thanks for taking the time...
All the suggestions are great, some even used.
Getting the 6.2 version would mean a d/l on my trusty winmodem
(not likely ) but I don't think I would take it that far simply to fix
the font tweak.
The packaged browsers are fine, I'm an Opera user since 3.6 and Netscape from about 4.06.
The thing is, I had a version of RedHat installed at one time (5.2?) on the same machine and thought I remembered the same problem in whatever version of Netscape shipped with it, so it got me to wondering, does the font + - just not work when ported to linux or is it maybe my onboard video?
edit -> appearance -> fonts works but doesn't seem to stick session to session.
I'll keep trying....
Thanks again

CMonster, those are the exact same settings I use.Had to increase to 18 so I could actually read. That, and I have started wearing specs for reading,'puting and night driving .
#3,I have Nutscape going on MDK8.1 with the fonts set like CMonster's.Also have it working on my SuSE7.1 box ,which sports a 440BX board and an Xpert98agp card.Cant think why those options are grayed out.
