Ok so I wanted to reinstall XP home. I get " setup did not find any hard disk drive"
I also had tryed a XP pro edition and it gives me the same thing. Is there a simple way around this?

missythng is infamous around these parts
Hi Slimcan

Well, if your computer uses SATA drives and you've moved the computer around, the first thing I'd do is open the case and make sure the sata cable hasn't come loose from the mobo. They just LOVE to do that.

Also check the BIOS, see what's in there as far as harddrive ... like if it's showing one.

I've had both things happen. And in case the above 2 issues are non-issues, I'm not sure if this will work with no os, but I once had to fix a "no hd found" on boot by doing a ckdsk - it'll take a few hours, so start it, go eat dinner, whatever. After I did that voila, I had a harddrive again.

I just got it started and the firrst thing I did was check disk for errors. After that the computer ran fine, no blue screen and no freezing. I learned something
