lcd monitor has hit the floor, now has split screen then goes black

hello, My son has had an accident the other day. his hp f1523h flat panel monitor hit the floor. now the screen comes up with it being split horizontally, and it sounds staticy. then it goes black. any idea? I pulled the back off of it, didn't see anyting fried from what I could tell. the screen itself has no cracks or anything. anybody have any ideas?

OUCH. Unfortunately it's probably broke internally. You'll need to have a technician open it up and take a look. Worst case is that the LCD is toast, and that will be a expensive fix. You might be better off just buying a new one.

thank you, i did open it up. again, nothing appears to be broken. maybe it is the circuit board?
