Crucial Scanner For Vista Incorrect Scan Report.

I scanned my system with the crucial scanner for Vista. first scan on original OEM factory install Memory Modules was precise, but today i was ordering more ballistix memory to complete the max upgrade of 4gb so i decided to scan my system since on the memory i was looking more for timing the lower the better, plus to see if can do any better than DDR2 PC2-5300 when the scan report popped up it showed i had only 1Gb of RAM installed, I instantly knew that was not correct so i check in my system setting and sure enought it showed i had installed 2gb or RAM 1918Mb, I am very curious on a few things, If the system can recognize the RAM is there but the scanner cant
what are the possibilities that either Vista is so secure that it is somewhat not allowing the scanner to access the system files, or wondering if the Memory Module may somewhat be faulty, Well no problems yet but with vista that door is always open and never shuts, just curious if anyone else has experience this same issue and have gotten answers hoping either its the compatibility of the scanner or Vista dont like the scanner
