Performance Reduction?!

I had a new machine built last November, and put in a single 7950 GT with intentions of adding a second one in SLI within 6 months or so...Things ran great for a long time, but within the last couple of months I've been experiencing "lag" in WoW, which is about the only game I currently play. It was only when entering highly populated areas, so I wasn't concerned. My FPS was always around 60 (according to the in-game meter), and still shows around 60, which isn't great I know, but it plays the game with max settings very smooth.

I was running a test at PC Pitstop and it showed me a big problem with my video card; the last 2 times I tested this card at their site, back in November and then again in April, it recorded over 700 megapixels per second...but now when I run the test I am only getting about 85 mp/s and it is red flagged as the card having a serious issue.

Are there any other tests I can run to determine what the problem could be, or any suggestions as to what I can do to find the issue? I downloaded and installed the latest drivers (had been using 162.18 since August, now using 163.71 as of last night) but it didn't help at all. For normal applications, I don't see anything wrong. And other than the "lag" in the game, plus the horrible test results (repeated several times), things seem ok...but I know something is wrong.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance

I'm not sure the problem is, but you can always format the comp, pretty sure it will run good as new. Are you getting like artifacts when you play game or graphic intensive stuff? If yes, maybe your vid card fan is broken, so its overheating?

I had forgotten about this post, thanks for the reply!

After posting this question on other sites, I was directed to 3DMark05 as a good test. It ran fine, if I remember correct, my card scored around 10k, which was about average/slightly better than average for my card. While I think there is still something wrong, apparently that test at pcpitstop records only 2d rendering and it still isn't effecting my performance at all.

I had added another gig of ram right after the time I posted this question, and that cleared up all of the lag I was having, it was a huge improvement in the game and in general. So now I'm not sure if the video issue was actually a problem that the RAM helped overcome, of if there never really was an issue aside from needing more ram to begin with.

Either way, the test results still concern me, but things are running fine and no one on any forums gave me any other thoughts on the topic.
