This is easy to diagnose or fix..
(1) Power on the system with the "FN" Key pressed down. This will boot into diagnostics. If the hard drive has failed, which can be common, and the system is under warranty, call Dell for a replacement. If not under warranty, purchase a hard drive and and reload Windows using your original disks.
(2) If all tests pass, press "Control" and "F11" at the exact moment you see a big blue bar on top of your screen saying
www.dell.com. This is at startup before windows loads. If you catch it right, this will activate the Dell image restore wich will erase all data and corruption and roll your PC back to the point when you first bought it. You DID back up your data didn't you?
