Getting a new system.

I think it's about time I got a new computer, but I'm wondering where the best place to go for one is. I really do not want to build it, as that is what I did with my current computer, and I have had far too many issues with it.

I plan to spend around $1000 on it (I don't need anything but the system itself, no monitor, etc.). I want to get one that either has no OS, or preferably has the option to have XP installed (I do not want Vista). It'll primarily be used for gaming. If there is anything else you want to know about what I am looking for just ask.

Any suggestions yall can give would be greatly appreciated.

Try Dell Small Buisness. They offer XP or Vista on some of the models.
The Dimension E521 should suffice. Although you'll want to purchase a GPU from somewhere such as newegg.com

If you dont find a suitable answer here at RR. Then come post your question over at techimo.com Most of the same members, but alot more attention to questions

From reading some reviews here and elsewhere I think I'll be going with AVADirect.

Check out tigerdirect desktops. Pretty decent prices there. Here's a few:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&Sku=V133-3102

This one has a better cpu then the first..

I would go for a dual core. If you come across a e6300 or better go for one of those rather then a pentium D. Other then that, you may check out alienware. Good luck and I hope this helped.

Go with AVAdirect, they have the best combination of low price, high ratings, customer service, and selection of systems and components.Don't be fooled by what seems to be low prices from large dealers like Dell, those cheap systems have cheap parts, and their support service is non-exsistent.I'd recommend something with a Core2 Duo processor,if you wait until after April 22,prices for them will be even lower,Intel is making significant price cuts then.

Try this one dude.

This store has a perrrfect score of 10.00. Add them to your short list, Master starfury.

I looked at them, their prices are kinda high ($70 for a modem for example, wtf?).

Also, I think I need to wait for the C2D E6420 to come out before I get the system (supposed to be the end of this month).

I would try http://tastycomputers.com/

I've gotten two machines from them, both of them have been excellent. The customer support has been top notch, and they're willing to but anything you can find on newegg in your system as well as point out better/cheaper alternatives.

They have 10.00 raiting here I believe, I have to put my own review up soon. I've just been rather swamped to sit down and write a nice one. I would strongly suggest looking at them, by the way they charged me 22$ for my modem, I believe. Everything was very nicely priced, less then every other reliable group I looked at.
