'Analog, Check Signal Cable' error

Recently bought a Samsung 226BW LCD monitor. Connected it to my ATI all-in-wonder Radeon 7500 video card via a DVI-I connector - http://www.allstarshop.com/shop/prod...0B52R087D7H4B#. -
Power on PC and got 3 small colored squares (r,b,g) and the following message on the screen:

Check Signal Cable

Analog
--------------------

Got the same result with the 2 video cables that I got with the monitor. My old CRT monitor works ok. My OS is win2kpro. What can cause the error?

Check the settings on the monitor.
It can be set to receive 'Analog' or 'Digital' input
My Samsung 215TW has a button labeled, 'Source'.
Yours appears to be set for 'Analog", so you are getting a test screen, change to 'Digital'.

EDIT:
Also makes sure the drivers for the monitor are up to date.

Used both analog and digital Source and don't get signal from video card, just the test signal. Get same signal if PC powered off. Manual says test means LCD monitor working ok. Also reseated video card. Have ATI a-i-w 7500 card over 6 years, wonder if it can drive the LCD monitor or if I need to change some setting. The video card drives the CRT monitor ok.

I've always used nVidia cards, but from what I've heard ATI's a-i-w cards can be a pain in the butt. NOTE: I'm in no way trying to start a nVidia vs ATI fight. Check to see if your card can handle the native resolution of the monitor. The native resolution of my TW215 is 1680x1050, and my older nVidia MX400, max setting 1280x1024, 6-7 year old card also, won't work with my Samsung monitor. It may be time to look into a new card.

Have you tried posting this over at TechIMO? I believe that this is you over there View Profile: isup. You've been registered long enough that you should be able to log in using the same 'username' and 'password' that you use here at RR. Looks like you haven't visited in almost three years. That's were most of the techies hang out since the sites were split up.

Try the Graphics Cards and Displays forum.
FYI TechIMO and RR are now individual sites. In fact it has been discussed about having tech questions here at RR referred to TechIMO.
