At Home old Win95 IMB Think pad need help

Hello, My name is Karen and I have a old IMB ThinkPad that came with Win 95 and the battery went out a while back and I don't know the first thing about getting to it to change it. Could some one tell me how to get at the battery?
Thank you Karen FrogLover_Miss

hey Karen, and welcome to the forums!

First thing, please post the model number and release year of the laptop.

Since it is running Win95 (assuming it came with that O/S preinstalled), it must be a very very old laptop, and you would probably have a hard time getting batteries for it if you go through IBM.

There are multiple retailers that specialize in laptop batteries (mostly online), but it is very unlikely that they carry batteries for a decade-old laptop.

The only possible solution to this problem as I see it, is to find a place that loads new cells into laptop battery packs. Most large electronics retailers have this service. Its not particularly expensive, and in most cases improves battery life. If you live in a large city, it is very likely that at least one local electronics retailer offers this service. Cells can also be bought at bulk/surplus electronics shops. Open the battery pack (if you are comfortable with the operation), note the number and type of cells, and look for equivalent.

best of luck,
tdbs
