No signal to monitor

AMD Athlon 1800
Brand New Biostar m7vig 400
Formatted HDD

Push the power button, hard drive and cd rom spin up. Fans come on. Monitor stays in sleep mode. Checked w/ other computer starts fine. Using the onbard video. No pci cards. Tried all three clock speed just for grins and giggles. Any suggestions???

One thing to try.....

My suggestion is to check the IDE and floppy cables to make sure they are not turned around.

I suppose you're using new cables that can't be connected wrong? I just seem to remember the problem way back when there were no stoppers on the ide cable connectors, thus making it possible to connect the HD wrong.
Anyway, since you use the onboard video, and you don't have any video signal, you don't really know whether BIOS is set up to use the onboard or PCI\AGP videocard, right? If you have a videocard, try to install it and see if you get a signal.
If you can't even get into BIOS, it's hard to do any attempt to fix it from there. If the onboard video is dead, then an RMA might be the way to go.

try to hear the beeb from ur pc if u hear it if u dont hear it that mean the problems in ur pc if u hear it well then the problem that the screen resolution is more than ur monitor can read in that case go to save mood and try to change it to low as 800 by 600 pixels and ur monitor will work again.

No signal on the monitor can be caused by almost anything. Give us some more specifics. (Does the Mobo beep, how many times?) most of the time it has to do with the motherboard having a dead PCI/xpress x16-AGP slot or a dead card. But sometimes the RAM can be at fault, the PSU, the peripherals, almost anything. Try booting with and without the HDD, CD Drive, or Floppy, or combos of the 3. Reseat the processor, RAM, Video card, and every single expansion card you have. Re-plug in the power cables. Or basicaly, take it apart and put it back together. As I said before, no signal problems can be so vast, that's one of the only things you can do to be sure weather it's the motherboard/parts inside. Did you try another monitor?

More than likely the motherboard itself is broken then.

This is integrated video. May be framebuffer set in disable. Try to reset CMOS with special jumper on your motherboard
