Microsoft Wireless Broadband Router Issues

Hey guys, just joined here in hopes that someone has a little more experience with this problem than me.

I have the Microsoft Wireless Broadband Station MN-500, and my internet connection resets itself (or, as it were, turns off) at least once a day.

Now, when my internet is actually on, it's slow ... I'm on RoadRunner and I'm downloading files from Firefox @ around 30 kbs.

The firmware is up to date and the settings aren't jumbled or anything (ie, mostly default) ... does anyone have a clue what I can do about this? I'm not thrilled about dropping another $40 - $70 on a router, and I've read that this is a common issue with this pos.
