yahoo email logon problem

I recently opened an email account with yahoo, using a friends laptop,- it said it was accepted but when I attempt to logon to it from my own desktop,- it will not accept my logon. I had set my security settings extremely tight after going broadband wireless, but when I try logging onto yahoo mail I allow cookies. I have activeX blocked, but that shouldn't be a problem. I really don't want to go lax on my security settings just for yahoo mail, but I currently using a friends router link and have no ISP or email of my own. Has anyone encountered problems with yahoo email and corrected the issue? Also, could I have better luck with an MSN free hotmail service, or would I likely encounter the same problem?

My experience with Yahoo has been very good, and as far as I know, hotmail's security 'lax' demands are a lot more annoying that Yahoo's (I actualy have to change settings in my firewall before I can access the hotmail website).

Try loosening the security settings a bit, so you can find a combination that works. It should only be a cookie problem with Yahoo.
