Who can figure it out

Just bought a USB 2 cardbus for my laptop. I can’t seem to get it to work, the computer freezes when I use it on USB 2 peripherals, however, if I try it on something simple like a memory chip the dam cardbus works. I tried it on my dad’s laptop and it worked. I was able to use an external burner just fine.

Is there some setting in the device manager that can fix such a problem?

what type of peripherals make you PC freeze? What Operating System are you using, laptop model and brand? PC card model and brand?

ok

I bought this Dell Inspron 2650 in 2002, it has two 1.0 ports. This why I picked up the card slots from tiger direct. Name brand is Trendnet here is the link
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...ds=usb+cardbus

Strange I don't see Trendnet on the site anymore but it gives you an idea of what I bought.

My OS is XP and my mp3 player which is a zen and burner which is Pacific Digital both make the computor freeze. This are new devices which require USB 2. Strange how they work when plugged in my USB 1.0 port. But I when I do plug it in the 1.0 the computor tell me that it would work faster if I use a 2.0

I still feel it may be some setting in device manager but I dont know enough to make any changes.
