Problem in Illustrator

I could not open the layer panel in illustrator all other panels are working fine and also there is problem in text tool I could not able to extend the text if I want to add some more text in it...

I have tried these in even shortcuts it is not working......
Pls somebody give me a solutions for this..
I'm using Windows Xp Srv pack 2..
AMD 64 bit processor...

Are you still having this problem? Unfortunately I was unable to find this problem regarding the layer panel. If you're still having trouble, I recommend posting in the Adobe Illustrator forum, http://www.adobe.com/support/forums/main.html..

I could not find the solution for the illustrator panel lost even in the above link..

Pls let me know if there is any other solution for this...

You may want to just uninstall Illustrator (using Add/Remove Programs) and reinstall it. It could be a file which has become corrupt or accidentally deleted.

I did that even after that it is missing so what I did is I installed an other version Illustrator CS2 even in that it has the same problem.....

But Illustrator CS2 did not work the other day it showed me some error and closed because that was a prirated version.

Now finally I'm using the Illustrator 10 original licensed version..
It has the same problem..

Well... we don't condone piracy nor provide tech support for things illegal. If you're indeed using a legal version now, however, you may have some scrap from the illegal app lodged in your registry that is causing the current problem with the legal version.
