Internet problems

Hi,
I recently reinstalled xp, and now after a while when i try to get sign into any of the messenger programs or open a webpage i cant, and my modem indicates that im connected to the internet but i cant use it, iexplorer says "the search page could not b opened" and the others say i have no internet connection, so i restart my comp and everything works fine again, if someone would help it'd b much appreciated

Need more info, e.g.,

What kind of internet connection do you have?
Wired/Wireless? Type of router?
Firewall/s or other security?

It sounds like your connection is dropping after an initial connection, or your firewall/security app is preventing internet access.

Check your XP Firewall settings, too.
