thermal epoxy

hey all,

I have some scrap heatsinks lying around, and I thought of putting them to good use. Would it be a good idea if I [cut them up of course] and attach them to different hot running chips on the mainboard/vid card with thermal epoxy?

thanks,
tdbs

Depends upon their design. If they're made of a single solid material and are of the fin or pin types, then they'll probably work fine.

If you have chips that you think are running too hot, then perhaps you should look into why they're as such and solve that issue, instead.
