portable photo printers?

What are some pretty good ones that are in the 'bang for the buck' category? I hear HP has some decent models. Any help please? THanks.

I've no personal experience with photo printers but ResellerRatings' product price search engine would be a good place to start:

Price comparisons for "portable photo printers"

Matches for "portable photo printer"

Check TechIMO's User Reviews Printers' section to find reviews on specific makes and models.

Portable photo printers

I sell these at work and can tell you the following things:

Kodak printers are for Kodaks cameras only.

HP, can be used with any camera, it also has a card reader on it, only bad thing is that the ink it uses (27,28 or 29) are not cheap.

Epson, has the best two out on the market. Both are portable, with the newest one out has a rechargable battery. Plus, the ink comes with a pack of paper for the printer. The ink lasts for 100 sheets. It also has a card slots, and a LCD screen (black/white on one, color on the other) to show pictures, and other menu options. (Epson is the cheapest per page at 29 each)

avg Prices:

Kodak : $145.00 - $160.00
HP: $100.00 - $175.00
Epson: $195.00- $399.00

I would also do what Lara RR suggested, check up on them. Also, Best Buy has some of them on display and are functional, so you can see how each work.

Cannon used to have a portable dye-sub printer. A little pricey, as I recall, but worth every penny.

Yes I agree, Canon's i960 has some attractive features. These include a PictBridge port on its front panel and two ports--one USB 1.1 and one USB 2.0--for sharing the printer without a network.
