Can't reinstall Office2000

Deleted MS Office2000 Pro, CD1. Trying to reinstall by placing Office 2000 CD1 in CD-RW drive and clicked drive icon. Got error message: 'D:\ is not accessible Incorrect function'.

Some common things to try are:

. updating your CD-RW firmware and/or drivers
. change your IDE ribbon cable
. updating IDE controller drivers
. updating chipset/mobo drivers

Other CD's work fine in the drive. I do not have Roxio software on my system. Office CD2 is still installed and i'm wondering if I need to uninstall CD2 before I can reinstall CD1. It's actually Office2002 and not 2000.
