ok, now a real answer...
so it sounds like the home edition PC has a driver that the media center PC doesn't like, probably because media center is essentially a version of XP Pro and not Home.
what you might want to do if you don't want a fancy print server (an extra $50 or so) is add the printer to the media center pc directly, make sure you can print from it, and share it from the media center pc to the home pc.
if you don't like that setup, just pull the printer off the media center pc after testing to see that it can print from the printer, then go plug it back in your home edition pc, share it, and then see if the media center pc can add it as a network printer. do it like this because then you know it does in fact have the correct printer drivers installed.
if and only if that doesn't work, you may have to invest in a hardware print server, but thing is that if media center doesn't support this printer (for whatever reason, i have seen stranger issues with drivers) then even the print server isn't going to help you. making sure the media center PC can print to it when connected directly is the way to ensure this set up is possible.
and lastly, and this i should have mentioned first, if you haven't already, look online for updated printer drivers. it is possible that an update online that is installed to your home edition PC will allow the network share to play nice between media centetr and home edition. unless there is something really, really particular about media center edition, that would probably be found on microsoft's knowledge base, one of htese fixes should get it going.
