p3 450 vs celery 1000

hey all,

which do you think would perform better?

a p3 450 katmai [512k L2] on a 100mhz bus [intel 443bx]

OR

a celeron 3 1000 coppermine lite [128k L2] on a 100mhz bus [intel 810e]

thanks,
tdbs

The 1Ghz cellery stick would eat up the P3.

So, what is 1000MHz Celeron equivalent to? 800MHz Pentium III with 100FSB?

is that 1gig celleron really coppermine? or is it tualatin? you'd have to go with the newer i815 chipset if so.

thanks everyone,

I thought the celery was better in this case, just wanted to confirm.. weird thing - charts do show it should be a tualatin because there are no coppermine celeron 3, but sandra shows it as coppermine lite... strange

thanks again,
tdbs

sandra may detect it is coppermine simply because it has on die cache and a 100Mhz fsb. though this may not be true, and it may use another mechanism to check, if the chip is actually booting in an i810 chipset board, it's not tualatin because there is actually a difference with the tualatin processors that makes it need a special configuration of motherboard that the coppermines don't need.
