Systems Wireless trouble shooting

Ok here is the deal. I have a loptop and a desktop with Windows Xp PRO Service Pack 2. I now bought a Airlink 101 PCI Cardfor my desktop and a Airlink 101 CardBUs for my laptop and it comes with a software I use the peer-to-peer thing using channel 7 and used a WEP key for security.

The problem is that if turn off either one of my computers. Let's say I turned off my laptop then later a couple of hours I want to use my laptop I see that it doesn't connect back. The wireless icon says not connected with the red X mark. So What I wanted to do is what to do so that when I turn my laptop again it will connect. I mean it has too because when both are off then i turn them on they will connect but not if I turn one off then later I turn it on it will not.

Can anyone help me?

Note: If I turn the laptop but just for a small period of time let's say 5 or 10 minutes they will connect but they will not if it is more time like hours.

Thanks in advance.
If you need more info let me know. Thanks again.

I'm not familiar with Airlink 101, but here's a config guide which *might* help:

*Note: this is for a college campus - your mileage may
vary!
