Which would you recommend - "AMD athlon 64 or Intel P4 3.0"

Hi guys,
Right now, I am trying to build a new system but having trouble choosing the right CPU and motherboard. Which would you guys recommend " AMD Athlon 64 3000+ or INTEL Pentium 4 3.0GHz. Which one is in term faster? Also hope you guys could recommend me a motherboard for it but under a $110 because I am in a tight budget. Thanks

I'd choose the AMD chip based purely on price/performance considerations.

What are you planning to do with the system?

In your particular situation I would highly recommend an Athlon64 3000+ paired with one of the well rated mobo's on this site...

The type of processor and board really depends on what your system usage is going to be. Look at this website for good combo's www.3btech.net

pci express or agp is a matter of preference. For a tight budget I would go with an AGP card

ok, but pci express only 10 - 20 dollars difference from AGP. So that aren't much of a problem. unless AGP is in terms of better performance than PCI Express.

Get PCI-E. The industry will eventually get rid of AGP.

I was think of the nforce 4 ultra vs nforce 3 ultra but doesn't really know which is better and whats the different between them such as the good and the bad for it? Thanks
