Need help with Windows IE

Any body have this problem before, sometime when I type a site such as yahoo.com, IE takes a pretty long time to load (10 second) according to me as it is. I have the verizon 3.0 DSL. And sometime I have this error. "Page can't be display" but when I click refresh it is back to normal. I never had this happen before just this pass two weeks the problem started. One more thing does this have anything to do with the services cause I kind of follow the service in http://www.overclockersclub.com/guides/windows_xp_services_2.php to disable. Any suggestions ?

Any time you poke around and mess with services and then something funny starts to happen always try undoing what you did to see if that fixes it first.

Try robooting your DSL modem as well, every now and again I have to unplug mine and plug it back in
