Problem with ink cartridge

I have a hp photosmart printer that takes the 45 and 78 cartridges. The 78 is an officemax remanufactured (new) that i had bought 4 months ago. Just opened it and it will not work. Has anyone had any problems with using aftermarket ink cartridges in their printer?

I'd suggest going over to www.lasermonks.com, read their FAQ's then try them out. I have never been dissatisfied with their products in over two years. HP cartridges won't cut you as much a bargain as other printers but still some savings. Before I buy a printer, I always check the pricing on consumeables.

Buy Epson or Canon printers. Many of their models will use generic ink cartridges. It costs about $4.25 to replace all the ink in my Epson and about $8 in the Canon Pixma IP3000 I just bought.
