CPU problem

nyways I'm swapping my old 2.26 P4 that was overclocked to 2.4 to a 3.0 E Prescott Core with HT technology. Motherboard is PM800-M2. Some reason after swapping and putting in CPU. When booting it boots when stays and it's stuck and doesn't go further saying at Processor saying 3.0 Ghz. not loading at all. can't even get into BIOS because it's hung. it's not a bad processor it's BRAND NEW! but I swapped back my 2.26 it works but 3.0 it reads but it's stuck at the boot screen What do I have to do? I know the motherboard supports the CPU

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Support...uID=48&LanID=0

Shows all supporting CPUs on that motherboard....argh I hate going online to order another one.

Specs:
2.26 Ghz (about to do 3.0 Ghz)
1 GB RAM PC2700 Samsung
ATI Radeon 9600 XT
300W power Supply from Compusa
40 GB WD
40 GB WD

That's all.... did I miss something?
