Ok this is a reply, kinda. My old power supply whish was brand new!!! was blown, supplying no power to the board. just got a new supply, only thing plugged in to the board are the 2 connectors from the suppy, and the switch on front. I can hear the power supply cherp (like a bird) when i turn it on? But fans dont work at all, probable nothing else either? HLP
It seems to me that it's dead. If it still has warantee, use it.
And, if it was fixable, you could severely injure/kill yourself, because they store a lot of power inside themselves. So, get it returned/replaced.
What brand is it? Is it the same PSU?
If it is the same thing, I would recommend going with an Antec or PC Power and Cooling. If you give me the specs of your PC, I give a wattage recommendation.
Hmm... It might be a failing hard drive, but it still doesn't explain why the fans don't spin. But, try it and then if it doesn't work, get a different PSU. I still have a good opinion of Antec, almost nothing can change that.
However, where did get the PSU? That might indicate something.
I'm not to much of an electrical guy? When you say grounded out, you mean it was shocked to death? If so, maybe. Maybe you should ask somebody else who nows a lot about PSUs.
