I started the installation with a winxp pro cd, along the process it'll come to a point where theyd prompt you to confirm hardware settings. That is where i changed the cd with another with sp1 and continued till its up and running.

was that to get better driver support ?

or was it to do with CD not working right ?

It was related to the subject of my first post 'error loading kdcom.dll. error code 4' while installing winxp pro. I've read through related threads posted in this forum and all seemed to narrow down to "scratched CD or pirated CD". I've installed the os on a few systems and all seemed fine, till the moment it hada happen on one particular pc. i mingled through bios to see if theres anything irregular, but i dont see any.
