DV-Editing Nightmare

When I try to capture video to my hard drive, the video seems "jerky". Like, when it's moving, it doesn't seem to fully capture it, like it missed a frame, but Nero says it didn't. I capture using USB 2.0, but Sony may have been cheap and included a 1.1 cable, but I don't think so. My specs are:
AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 333 MHz FSB
Asus A7V600 Mobo
Seagate 7,200 RPM 2 MB cache 40 GB HDD
BFG NVidia 5500 OC 128 MB graphics card
Sony 710A DVD burner
Sony Handycam TVR460
512 MB of Kingston PC-3200 RAM

I think you have hit it on the head. Sony includes a USB 1.1(at least that's what they did with my TRV350) cable with that camera just to transfer photos, Id recommend either using firewire or looking for a USB 2.0 compatible cable.

Great, but where can I find a Sony USB 2.0 or Firewire cable? Which should I get, because I need a firecard card then.

I guess the only place to buy the cable is from Sony, but they charge $19.99 for only 1.4 meters of cable. Overpriced. Oh, well.
