Systems New System from Ground Up!!! Wont Power up? Hlp Im a Novice

Ok plp I need hlp Bad!!! Take into Concideration im new 2 building systems. Everything I bought I brad new. Samurai Case=Irrelevant Samesung Monitor=Irrelevent, Maxtor SATA hard drive, Pent IV 3.0ghrtz Cpu, Intel 915P Express Gigabyte Motherboard/LGA775 processor, and finally a MSI RX 800PRO Graphics card? If I had 2 replace one item at a time on my ANCIENT computer, it wouldn't be a issue= no sweat!!!!! But as i guessed it would be a nightmare building from ground up!!!! To begin with no power WHATSOEVER is noticed when turned on. I have to connectors from the main power supply (that came with the case) attached to the motherboard. It seems like no power is reaching the board at all? I tried disconnecting everything but the power supply and the main led wires from the front of the case. Still no power? Shouldn't the fan with the power supply be on? or is it regulated by the heat from the supply unit? I was thinking that being NEW i needed to load the oper sys or the disks that came with the mother board first. But i cant even get the power on. The F panel where the front case power leads attach have the first row of connectors are open? It says connect the power lead here. 3 pins facing verticle. But I have no connectors left? Not sure what im doing wrong as you can tell by this thread!!! Pls HLP

I hate to ask the obvious but is it a switched power supply? If it is, Did you check to make sure the switch on the back of the power supply was turned on. Also, It the voltage selector (little red selector on the back of the power supply) set to 115?

Have you plugged the four pin power plug into the motherboard as well as the 20 pin connecter? That would produce similar results.

Also make sure the switch on the back of the PSU is not turned off ( as already mentioned ), I do that every now and again. Rather annoying.

You do not need to load anything to get it to turn on. It should come on, find everything than tell you no O/S can be found. Thats what you want

Ok yes it is turned on in the back, and the switch is on 115 v. Both power connectors the 28 pin and the 4 pin connectors are connected to the board. Not sure what else to do?

Verify your power switch from the case is correctly placed on the motherboard. Also, if you have access to a power supply tester or multimeter test your voltages on the power supply. If you have a computer repair facility or tech nearby they would be able to quickly test your power supply.

I have an idea, if the PSU isn't bad; the MOBO might be bad. Or, I should say, the plug on the MOBO could be bad. Also, while you're messing around in the case, verify that the CPU Heatsink is on. Also, make sure you took out the plastic cover on the CPU socket and save it. Some MOBO manufacturers may deny your warranty if you lost it.
