Are you running a http server

I believe ASP requires at least IIS to be running on the machine since it's a dynamic web page. Or if you are running Apache you to have Sun Java System Active Server Pages 4.0 (formerly Chilisoft) running on your computer as well.

So try setting up IIS or Apache with Sun Java System Active Server Pages 4.0 to run the ASP page.

Thanks for your reply

i do know of apache, also i know about asp.net and iis requirements on windows xp.
i think the sloution to this problem my be to completely uninstall visual studio, iis and clean the registry since some programs leave stuff when there uninstalled
and then install them again
if i solve this problem myself. i will post the solution here
