Restrict accounts, i want to set up multiple accounts for each member of the family, but how can i restrict what the kids do as i don't want them downloading.

If you mean content filtering on the internet, I think you will need another program like Netnanny or Cybersitter. I don't think XP can do that

simply restricting their accounts to non-admin accounts will rpevent them from installing aplications.

turning off simple file sharing will yield you the security tab in your folder and file options, which will also allow you to restrict access to programs you already have installed.

usually the programs will give you the option to restict acess on install, however it typically is a "dumb" restrictionw here it only gives you the option of allowing access to everybody, or just the user currently logged in, and not specifying more than one user access while others are restricted.
