MSN Messenger Probs

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help with this annoying problem.

I was running MSN 7, but due to a few contacts asking me to accept virus's i uninstalled and was going to install 6.2 again.

So i install, but then i get the following error message:

The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I've installed many times, still no joy, won't even let me go back to MSN 7,

Also when i type Reg Edit in the run program from start, the box pops up then disappears, i've disabled my norton thinking it was that but still no joy??

Anyone know

have you scanned your system for any potential Virus since that period??? If not do so. Completely get rid of the Msn messanger from your system and start clean and fresh sometimes there stuff of it still sitting in your HD and when u install again it reconnects and problem occurs again. use something like System Machanic which detects uninstalled programs and parts of it left behind which windows doesnt completely remove. Good luck I hope that helps
