I can't open the site amalgamatedbank.com, went to the bank and it opens. How can a computor not open a web site? I have XP and use IE as a browser.

Site works for me & is not encrypted. Web pages can be blocked in windows HOST file. Try using Firefox http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
and see if thst works

Where can I find this HOST setting? That is news to me.

the sites working fine for me today. try clearing your browser cache temp files and cookies ect. are you having issues getting to any other sites or just that one??

This is the only site I have trouble wth. But note It always worked for me. Stopped about a week ago.

Did you try it with another brower like firefox, if it works with that you will know the problem is with IE

OK! I called the cable company and they said " we have trouble with customers getting on to some sites. Customers only with a router have this trouble. It is a hard problem for them to fix.
SO now I will try to by pass the router. I may have gone somewhere with this mystery.
