I just formatted my HD and installed WIN XP Pro, all was fine until i tried to install programs from CD, i can't currently remember the error message but it was something along the lines of read/write error.

Anyone have any ideas

probably a scratched CD or dirty CD ROM drive. if you have the good ol' can-o-compressed air, blow out the drive a little bit, and also try rubbing down the CD with a soft cloth, might even consider using a non-alcohol based cleaner if it's particularly nasty.

if that doesn't work, post the specific message here so we can look into it.

Hi,

OK just tried to install my Broadband installation disc, and the error says:

Macromedia Project Failed, don't send/send

Also with my Musicmatch Jukebox Disc, instead of having the Musicmatch logo it has a white box with the thick blue line at the top, is it a setup box?...then it says can't readwrite process

What happens if you throw in your XP disk?

Drive may be dead.

this sounds like a problem with autorun and your flash install. you might want to go to macromedia's website and reinstall all the flash clients just to make sure that's where the problem is.

if re-installing the macromedia software doesn't help, then it may be a problem with your drive somewhere. try re-installing the software and we can go from there.
