Heavy Duty Batteries?

Can anyone tell me why they are called heavy duty batteries? In my instances I found there is nothing heavy duty about them. I know the price is low but is it just a cheap battery at a cheap price or maybe a scam. I just invested so much money in them and I find myself replacing them all the time. Are alakline better and worth the extra little money?

alkaline are much better than regular
buy alkaline or use NiMH rechargeables
Personally I buy all my batteries at Big Lots, usually Duracell.
they are usually 4 AA Duracell batteries for $1.99 or they have Fuji or Kodak alkalines for $1.50

i read somewhere about alkaline batteries and name brands.... that the same bigger name companies who make name brand batteries also make the off brand batteries with little to no changes to the product (neglecting to include the visue touch tester glued to the side, for example).

i'm not sure if this has changed over the years, but i do know that the date the battery was made is important because the charge will eventually trickle out over time. buying a battery with a "use by this date" lable at least gives you that peace of mind.
