for satalite, i would read the contract/charges/claims very, very closesly. often times satalite connections rely on a dial up upload with satalite download, very fast download speeds with mind numbing upload speeds. that means that though you can download tons of stuff really fast, anything relying on a return signal from you (ie, gamming, certain streaming protocalls, TCP checksum replies) might end up being no faster than dial up. although, no matter what, it will be an improvement over standard dial up. the questiuon you really have to ask yourself is if the price difference is worth it.
so, do you want to be able to game online? and do you want to have faster web browsing abilities? or are you mostly looking to not wait hours for a download to finish? if i were in your shoes, i'd definitely be willing to pay for the satalite connection, but that's me, and game patches tend to be in the 100 megabyte+ range, whether it's for games i play single player or online. i'd say go for whatever one gives you more with the least hassel for the least price, but if one of them offers total satalite connection with satalite upload and download, that's the real sweet deal at any price. i'd be surprised, but if both offer that, then go for the cheapest.
