Problem With Slave HD

Ok here is my problem. First, my master hardrive crashed and I reformatted it and installed operating system, but after I installed my operating system, my slave hardrive stopped working. Whenever i clicked on it? It gave me a message saying that my slave drive was not formatted. It was working before my master hd crashed. DOes anybody know how to fix this problem?

did you reformat the slave? And if you did ,did you partition the slave drive? Also check the harddrive cables make sure they are hooked up correctly and they are inserted fully.Btw check the jumpers on the drives, some drives are picky

Cheers

Do you actually have two hard drives in your computer or do you have one drive with two partitions...?

You're using the right language for two drives but I am just checking.

If you repartitioned the primary it has invariably damaged the slave partition.

Maybe if right click on My Computer, Select Manage from the menu, go to disk management and initialise that drive it will come back.

Other than that, you may want to unplug it and reboot. Then plug it back in again and see what happens. Mess around with BIOS settings...the usual fiddlings.

you also may want to use fix mbr command....search this forum for the exact steps as I have kinda forgotten that (hardly use it).

I have to harddrives, I had to reformat my master harddrive. I disconnected my slave drive before I formatted my master drive. After I formatted the master drive and plugged back the slave drive. The slave drive stopped working, saying the slave is not formatted.

Check - 2 drives - Got it

ummm...do try to initialize the drive in disk management and see if that does anything...

I'll think about what sort of things can be done...and post back when I come up with something.
