help with internet explorer

Recently something happened to my explorer, each time I try and save a picture from a site, the save window comes up, and the name of the picture shows "untitled", and the extention is .bmp, which I have no way of changing. Is someone familiar with this problem and can help me?

what format do you want to save it as?
bmp is the usual choise or maybe jpg

I'll illustrate what I mean with a screen shot.


In the picture, I am trying to save the picture of the dog, but in the window that comes up, the original name of the picture - Guess - is replaced with untitled, and the original extension of the picture - jpg, is replaced with bmp. I just want to be able to save the picture with its original name and in original format.

There are other browsers available.

Check out Mozilla , which is MUCH better than Internet Explorer.

It's also free.

Instead of opening the image in IE, Try right-clicking on the link, then select 'Save Target As'

Looks like IE is scaling the image to fit the window, and may be converting it to BMP form.

Try deleting your temporary Internet files, I had this problem once and that fixed it.
