Gaming Computer went dead and will not turn back on

I have a computer that is having some issues. It worked fine for a few hours then the screen just went dead. The light on the front went from green to yellow. I turned it off, then tried to turn it back on again but it wouldn't come back on and the light remains yellow. I have no idea what could cause this, but I do know that all the cords/wires/etc. was hooked up correctly and operable. I hooked up another computer to the same cords/wires/etc. and it is working fine. Any one seen something like this before, and if so is there a solution? (By the way, I have read somewhere that the red button near the power supply needs to be at 110/115 and it is at 115, so that is evidently not the problem) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do any of the fans turn on when you hit the power button?
Does it make any beeps or is it just dead?

Chances are your PSU(power supply) died on you.

No, nothing happens at all, it is just dead. The light in the front is on however, it is yellow/orange which is what it was when it was off, instead of green which is what it turns to when it is turned on.

I have considered that, but thought that if that died no lights would work at all? Is that inaccurate. (I am a novice to say the least, so what I am saying is just a thought.)

Thanks for you reply, I do appreciate it and hope you don't mind helping me out some more!

I had a PSU die on me last spring. Nothing would work, but a green power light on the motherboard did stay on. Popped in a new PSU and worked like a charm.

Hi,

This is most likely the power supply. Even if the lights come on. If you turn on the power & the power supply fan doesn't turn on then that is pretty sure to be the problem.

When you replace it, if it's not proprietary & just a standard power supply, I would opt for one that's a higher wattage. At least 400w.

Good luck!
