PIII upgrade

My son (9) has been asking me for a while for his own computer. I digged (got for free) an old computer ACER 4300 and would like to upgrade it as much as reasonably possible.
Right now it is Celeron 360 with 64MB SDRAM and 4GB HD. It has Sound card (doesn't make a sound - I'm working on it).

I wouldn't like to spend much more than $50 or so on upgrade. What can I do within this price range?
Please help!

Here is some numbers from the computer:

OS: Win98 A
Product name: 91.AB746.D02
Main board: V76M
Bios ver: V3.2
SMBIOS ver: 2.1
CPU: Celeron 366
memory in 1 bank - 64mb SDRAM
Video: integrated SiS 620 AGP 2X with 8MB shared SDRAM

More than likely it runs on 66MHz bus which means you probably wouldn't be able to go above a PII. With that being said, it wouldn't really be worth it to even buy the PII for it.

Download EVEREST Home Edition and look at the page that shows the details of your motherboard. That should tell you the chipset and give some info on what all you can upgrade successfully.
