Comp crashes when running games

Hey,
Basically the subject explains it all. Whenever I try to run certain full-screen games, even ones that aren't graphically demanding, my comp will give me a BSOD and I'll have to restart it. I'll post here what the BSOD's said (it's given me 2 different ones):

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

The problem seems to be caused by the following file: nv4_disp.dll
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
...
...
Technical information:
***STOP: 0x00000050 (0xFFFFFFF0, 0x00000001, 0xBFA70F60, 0x00000000)
***nv4_disp.dll - Address BFA70F60 base at BF9B8000, DateStamp 40f6d75c"

This one is obviously referring to my video card, but I'm not sure what the next one means.

"........
.........
Technical information:
***STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBF875E5F, 0xF7EFAA58, 0x00000000)
****win32k.sys - Address BF875ESF base at BF800000, DateSTamp 3b7de698"

Allright, so I'm not exactly sure what that all means or how I can go about fixing that. I just reformatted my computer less than 2 weeks ago, so it wouldn't be any virus or anything causing this.
I'm not sure what all information about my computer would be needed so I'll just leave the basic stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you need to go to www.nvidia.com and download the latest drivers for your video card. install them and that should fix it. if not, let us know!

well, the other option you have to look at is your sound card. the win32k.sys BSOD i have seen associated with games seemed to be associated with sound driver issues, but also usually associated with overclocking.

you may want to check for both sound driver and BIOS updates to see if that solves it. occasionally a windows update will deal with programs crashing, but that's a long shot. with the latest video drivers i'll assume you also have the latest directx installed.

and if you haven't tried yet, see if you have the latest chipset drivers as well.
