At Home difference between ddr400 and ddr266 ram

Could anyaone tell me the performance difference between using ddr 400 ram (my board supports it) and ddr266 ram

It rests more on your Processor's FSB. If you have a CPU with 266Mhz FSB it won't really do you any good to have anything rated higher.

If you were planning on getting more RAM, do buy DDR400 (PC3200) ram because the price difference is negligible. You can probably even find better deals on PC3200 RAM. It will run at whatever speed you slowest stick of ram is running at though.

My motherboard will support 400ddr ram and from what I understand that is 3200 ram--I will definitely buy ddr 400 ram. My motherboard also supports dual channel ram--that looks like an interesting concept
