Media Help With Running FTP Server

I'm in college right now, and I have a very sweet internet connection - 16 mb/s T1. The only problem is, I'm behind the university's firewall, and there is no way for me to run a ftp or send files to people through IRC. Is there someone for me to bypass it? Please help me out here

you're pretty out of luck. being able to offer external services pretty much requires you to have acess to the firewall/router rules, otherwise they determine what goes and what doesn't.

if you're inclined, you may want to probe to see if the firewall does actually allow any communication initiated from the outside on any of their ports. if you can get their network scanned from the outside and determine if there is anything, then you can use non-default ports for your server utilizing those ports the admins have opened for whatever reason.

good luck!
