Norton Antivirus 2005 repair not functioning !

has anyone lately try to install the Norton Antivirus 2005 and have any problem. I recently got a copy from a friend but when I finish installing it and updated it. Once I open up WORD, or IE I get this message "The Norton Antivirus 2005 Repair can not function or something and asks you to uninstall and install again, I try many times but I still have the same problem...Is there something wrong with the program or there is a bug or something. Cause this doesn't happen with my 2004 version.
