Gaming motherboard suggestions???

I'm building a PC for the first time; primarily for intensive gaming. I was looking at an ABIT IC7-G Motherboard for $130(Specs here). I showed it to my friend and he looked at me like I was insane. He said he thought it was way overpriced.

So I ask you, O gurus of computer wisdom, is there a cheaper alternative to this? Or do I even need this stuff. If i do need the stuff is it overpriced?

I'm looking for awesome preformance but I don't wanna have to start selling body parts either.

Here's what I plan on putting on it:

Intel Pentium 4 w/ HT Technology - 3.0GHz
nVidia GeForce 6800 FX Ultra
Western Digital WD740 (2 in RAID 0)
Sony DRU-530A DVD+RW/-RW Drive
Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
1GB PC3200 DDR DIMM Memory

I also don't plan on overclocking

Ti 4200 video> SBL audio > powered with a generic
dual Fan 500 > 160 GB Maxtor >XP Home
Envision 17 in. CRT > wirless microsoft kb & mse
Logitech 640 speakers

But the total will be $850 cost

This is a stock settings board > not a good choice for OC
