NTLDR file missing

eh peeps i need help to the following:

i am using P4 2.8ghz 256ram 60gb hdd and 8 gb hdd running on windows xp pro

when i start my com, immediately after the setup page it prompt ntldr file missing. i try to use a boot disk to boot my com but it wun work. some1 told me to go to system recovery and work it out from there..buut i cant even get to the page by pressing f8 or f12.. i wish to know how to get to the system recovery page or ways to solve this proble.. note i tried F8 F9 F10 F11 F12..but it wun work
pls guide me along
