Man i need some serious help...ijust bought this new game The sims 2, and i cant install it. For one i keep getting a message stating that i dont have DirectX9.0,, but that cant be because i have 7.0 and i just downloaded 9.0..Well i went to a page stating their system requirments and i realized that most of the video cards they support are ATI and NVidia,, i dont have either i have Intel 82815.. so i would really appreciate it if someone could tell me if it matters which type of video card i buy.. does it have to be compatible to intel or not?????

chances are the game is detecting your intel graphics chip drivers as being non-directx 9 compliant, which if you have never updated them is probably true. windows 98 ships with directx 6, while windows Me ships with directx 7 and XP ships with directx 8. therefore the native intel graphics drivers (if your build of windows even has them) would not be directx 9 compliant. try downloading the latest intel drivers and see if the message goes away.
